Why Sand Tray Therapy?

Sand therapy, also known as sand play therapy, is a therapeutic approach that involves the use of sand and miniature figures to create scenes that represent an individual's thoughts and emotions. This type of therapy allows participants to express themselves in a nonverbal manner, facilitating communication that may otherwise be difficult to verbalize.

Sand tray therapy provides a safe and controlled environment for expression, enabling individuals to process their experiences and emotions without the pressure of traditional talk therapy. The act of building and creating in sand allows individuals to externalize their feelings, facilitating healing.

Even small activities such as tracing letters or designs in the sand can build confidence in writing and give children the fine motor ability to form purposeful strokes in the sand and eventually on paper.
